How did you get the idea to develop an own solution for Application Virtualization?
Dögel IT-Management is a pioneer in the field of Application Virtualization. We were the first to bring Thinstall, which is now known as VMware ThinApp to the German market. Also, we have been the Pioneers with Xenocode and InstallFree. Therefore we gained know how which is outstanding in the German speaking countries. In our projects we always made out some deficits of the established solutions. These deficits we want to resolve with our own product.
For whom is the Application Virtualization with Evalaze designed?
For the forthcoming months we have many development steps. Contemporary, the focus is only on the virtualization of Windows applications. Private users have the chance to make their apps portable. Software developers could use the solution to be platform independent or to reform their software evaluation.
How is the licensing model of Evalaze?
For private use it is free. Everyone can download the builder and virtualized his own apps or games or make them portable. For Business Clients there are actually only individual agreements. At the moment we will not offer software licenses, but use it as a means to an end. The end in this case is Application Virtualization as a service.
Will there be points of intersection?
We want to cooperate with Client Management companies as soon as possible and also we will have cooperation with vendors of MSI packaging solutions. I think their portfolio can be reasonably complemented.
Where will the journey with Evalaze take you?
Evalaze will have a role in different departments. On the one hand, clearly to enhance the classic MSI packaging. On the other hand for private user who just want to take their applications with them on a USB-device. Last but not least the emphasis will be in the field of Cloud Computing.
Cloud Computing with Evalaze, please explain this more precisely!
The Builder is only one part of our intention. The primary function is to use the application without the need to install it first. We already have a streaming engine in development which is currently in a beta phase. Later that year we will release the engine. The virtualized applications can be uploaded on an internet server and every user no matter where they are can access via software streaming. With this technology we want to simplify the start with Cloud Computing for software developers, reseller and service provider.
